How to do Walking
- Begin standing tall with your shoulders relaxed, your head up, and your gaze forward.
- Walk at a comfortable pace, landing on your heel and rolling through to push off with your toes, swinging your arms naturally in rhythm with your stride.
- Gradually increase your pace to a brisk walk where your breathing deepens but you can still hold a conversation.
- Continue for the desired duration or distance, then slow your pace gradually to cool down.
Getting it right
- Maintain an upright posture; avoid slouching or looking down at your feet.
- Swing your arms actively to increase your pace and engage your upper body.
- Breathe steadily and settle into a rhythm you can sustain for the full session.
- Wear supportive footwear and increase your distance or pace gradually over time.
Swap Walking for
The app's swap picker ranks these the same way: same muscles, similar movement, similar equipment.
Let the app run Walking for you
Durata logs the distance and the time, and keeps last session's figures in front of you, so you always know what you are chasing. That works on any of our 50 free programs, or on a session you put together yourself.
