GZCL: Jacked & Tan 2.0 vs GZCLP
Both are free in Durata and shown in full on their own pages. Here they are side by side, from the same program data the app runs.
- Session: GZCL: Jacked & Tan 2.0, 45–60 min; GZCLP, 35–45 min.
- Length: GZCL: Jacked & Tan 2.0, 12 weeks; GZCLP, ongoing.
- Level: GZCL: Jacked & Tan 2.0, advanced; GZCLP, beginner.
- Goal: GZCL: Jacked & Tan 2.0, powerbuilding, hypertrophy; GZCLP, strength.
- The same: days a week (4) and equipment (full gym).

| Progression | Fixed % of Training Max for the block — the TM holds; retest and re-run to move it | Stages 5×3+ → 6×2+ → 10×1+: +5 kg on success; a miss drops a stage, a miss on the last one restarts the cycle from 85% of a fresh 5-rep max; Stages 3×10 → 3×8 → 3×6: +2.5 kg on success; a miss drops a stage, a miss on the last one restarts the cycle from 100% of a fresh 10-rep max |
Who it suits. Run it if you're an intermediate coming off GZCLP or another linear program and your priority has shifted from adding plates every session to adding muscle while strength keeps ticking up. The name is honest: this is powerbuilding, with the majority of the weekly tonnage done in hypertrophy rep ranges. It is not a peaking block — if you want a max on the platform in twelve weeks, The Rippler is the strength arm of the same family — and it isn't a first program, because a true novice will progress faster on GZCLP's simpler structure before graduating here.
How it progresses. Progression is the chart itself. T1's weekly rep-max targets force heavier weight as the reps descend, and the two 1RM tests are where the block cashes out — update your training maxes after week six and the second block's percentages rise with them. T2a compounds climb a fixed percentage wave off their own maxes. Everything else uses the max-rep-set rule: find the week's target rep max, then three more sets at that weight with a rep or two in the tank, and chase the totals week to week. Durata lays out every week's targets, computes the drop sets off the top set you actually hit, and cues the max-rep protocol on the sets themselves.
Who it suits. This is a beginner program in the best sense: the decisions are automated, the sessions are recoverable, and the built-in accessory work means you're adding size while the numbers climb. If you're new to barbells, or coming off StrongLifts or Starting Strength wanting more direct back, arm and pressing volume, GZCLP is the obvious pick. If you've already ground through a year of linear gains and your main lifts are deloading every few weeks, you've outgrown it — the GZCL family continues with The Rippler for pure strength or Jacked & Tan 2.0 for size.
How it progresses. Each tier progresses by its own rule, which is the quiet genius of the system. The T1 lift adds weight every successful session — 5 kg on squat and deadlift, 2.5 kg on bench and press — and after a third miss the weight drops 10% so you can rebuild with momentum. T2 runs double progression: hold the weight, work all three sets from 10 toward 12 reps, and once every set hits 12, add 2.5 kg and start over at 10. T3 is simplest — same weight, push each AMRAP set toward 25 reps, then add 2.5 kg. Durata applies all three tiers' rules automatically and logs the AMRAP sets that decide them, so the only thinking left is the lifting.
Common questions
How is Jacked & Tan 2.0 different from GZCLP?
GZCLP is a full-body rotation where the tiers progress on fixed rep targets. J&T 2.0 moves to an upper/lower split and runs on rep maxes instead: T1 finds a heavier rep max each week, and the T2b/T3 slots chase max-rep sets. More autoregulation, more muscle-building volume, same tier logic.
Are GZCL: Jacked & Tan 2.0 and GZCLP free?
Yes. Both are free to run in Durata, and each one's page shows every set of every session.
