What Seated Shoulder Press (Machine) trains
How to do the Seated Shoulder Press (Machine)
- Sit on the shoulder press machine with your back against the backrest and adjust the seat so the handles are at shoulder height. Grasp the handles with your palms facing forward.
- Press the handles upward by extending your arms fully overhead, keeping a slight bend in your elbows at the top.
- Pause briefly at the top of the movement.
- Slowly lower the handles back to shoulder height with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Keep your back and head against the backrest to maintain proper form and protect your spine.
- Exhale as you press the handles up and inhale as you lower them.
- Avoid locking your elbows at the top of the movement to keep tension on your shoulders.
- Keep your feet flat on the floor for stability throughout the set.
