How to do the Shoulder Press (Machine Plates)

  1. Load the desired weight plates onto the plate-loaded shoulder press machine. Sit with your back against the backrest and adjust the seat so the handles are at shoulder height. Grasp the handles with your palms facing forward.
  2. Press the handles upward by extending your arms fully overhead.
  3. Pause briefly at the top of the movement without locking your elbows harshly.
  4. Slowly lower the handles back to shoulder height with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
