Cable Hip Flexion
Trains the hip flexors. You need a machine. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
How to do the Cable Hip Flexion
- Attach an ankle strap to the low pulley of a cable machine and fasten it around one ankle.
- Stand facing away from the machine, holding the frame or a stable support for balance, with the strapped leg slightly behind you.
- Keeping your torso upright, drive the knee of the strapped leg forward and up until your thigh is about parallel to the floor.
- Lower the leg back to the start with control, finish your reps, then switch legs.
Getting it right
- Stand tall and do not lean back to lift the knee higher.
- Move slowly on the way down; the cable should pull your leg back, not swing it.
- Start light: the hip flexors are a small muscle group.
What Cable Hip Flexion trains
None of our programs use the Cable Hip Flexion
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a hip flexors exercise that is, there are 21 on the Hip Flexors page.
Swap Cable Hip Flexion for
The app's swap picker ranks these the same way: same muscles, similar movement, similar equipment.
Let the app run the Cable Hip Flexion for you
Durata picks the weight, times your rest and adds load when you earn it. That works on any of our 50 free programs, or on a session you put together yourself.
