What Triceps Extension (Machine) trains
How to do the Triceps Extension (Machine)
- Sit on the triceps extension machine and adjust the seat so your upper arms rest comfortably on the pad. Grasp the handles with your palms facing inward or down.
- Keeping your upper arms fixed against the pad, extend your elbows to press the handles down and forward until your arms are fully extended.
- Pause briefly at full extension, squeezing your triceps.
- Slowly return the handles to the starting position with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Keep your upper arms pressed against the pad throughout; only your forearms should move.
- Extend fully and squeeze your triceps at the end of each repetition.
- Exhale as you extend your arms and inhale as you return to the start.
- Avoid using momentum or lifting your elbows off the pad to move the weight.
