What Triceps Kickback (Cable) trains
How to do the Triceps Kickback (Cable)
- Set the cable pulley to a low position with a single handle attached. Grasp the handle with one hand, hinge forward at your hips until your torso is nearly parallel to the floor, and raise your upper arm alongside your torso.
- Keeping your upper arm stationary, extend your elbow to push the handle backward until your arm is fully extended.
- Pause briefly at full extension, squeezing your triceps.
- Slowly return the handle to the starting position with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch arms.
Getting it right
- Keep your upper arm locked in position; only your forearm should move.
- Keep your back flat and your core engaged while hinged forward.
- Exhale as you extend your arm and inhale as you return to the start.
- Use a light weight and focus on the squeeze at full extension rather than moving heavy loads.
