Seated Dip Machine
Trains the triceps. You need a machine. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
None of our programs use the Seated Dip Machine
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a triceps exercise that is, there are 12 on the Triceps page.
What Seated Dip Machine trains
How to do the Seated Dip Machine
- Sit on the dip machine with your back against the backrest and your feet flat on the floor. Grasp the handles at your sides with your elbows bent at roughly 90 degrees.
- Press the handles downward by extending your arms fully, keeping your elbows close to your body.
- Pause briefly at the bottom with your arms extended, feeling the contraction in your triceps.
- Slowly bend your elbows to return the handles to the starting position with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Keep your back pressed against the backrest and avoid shrugging your shoulders as you press.
- Focus on driving through your triceps rather than leaning your body weight onto the handles.
- Exhale as you press down and inhale as you return to the starting position.
- Avoid slamming into full lockout; extend smoothly to protect your elbows.

Durata picks the weight, times your rest and adds load when you earn it. That works on any of our 50 free programs, or on a session you put together yourself.
