None of our programs use the Overhead Carry (Dumbbell)
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a full body exercise that is, there are 12 on the Full Body page.
How to do the Overhead Carry (Dumbbell)
- Press a dumbbell overhead with one hand until your arm is straight, bicep beside your ear.
- Walk forward in a straight line with steady steps, keeping the dumbbell still overhead.
- Keep your ribs down and your torso upright.
- Walk for the set distance or time, lower the dumbbell to your shoulder, then switch hands and repeat.
Getting it right
- Keep your arm locked and your wrist straight, with the weight stacked over your shoulder.
- Don't lean away from the weight or arch your lower back.
- Walk at a steady pace; rushing makes the dumbbell wobble.
- Start lighter than you would for a press.
