How to do the External Rotation (Dumbbell)

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in one hand. Rest your other hand on your hip.
  2. Tuck your working elbow against your side, bent at 90 degrees, with your forearm across the front of your body.
  3. Keeping your elbow fixed at your side, rotate your forearm outward until it points out to the side.
  4. Rotate slowly back to the start. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch arms.
