What Ab Wheel trains

Front

How to do the Ab Wheel

  1. Kneel on the floor with an ab wheel positioned in front of you. Grip the handles with both hands, palms facing down, and position your shoulders directly above the wheel.
  2. Engage your core and slowly roll the wheel forward, extending your body toward the floor while keeping your arms straight and your back flat.
  3. Roll out as far as you can control without letting your hips sag or your lower back arch.
  4. Contract your abdominals to pull the wheel back toward your knees, returning to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Getting it right

Swap Ab Wheel for

The app's swap picker ranks these the same way: same muscles, similar movement, similar equipment.

Let the app run the Ab Wheel for you

Durata times your rest and puts last session's reps in front of you, so you always know the number to beat. That works on any of our 50 free programs, or on a session you put together yourself.
