Records and celebrations
Durata marks two moments in a workout: the set where you beat a record, and the end of the session. This page covers what you'll see at each one, how to see it again, and how to change or turn off any of it.

When you beat a record
Tick a set that beats one of your records and the moment plays straight away. Durata checks your estimated 1RM, your heaviest weight and your best set volume for that lift, and at a gym you've added, the record at that gym too.
If your rest timer runs full screen and the set has a rest, the record takes the screen: the lift, the new best in amber, what it was and what you gained, any other records the set broke, and how long the old record stood. An amber line at the top counts down eight seconds, then the countdown flies into the rest ring and your rest carries on. The rest time is never lost. Tap the screen to go to the rest straight away.
With the header rest bar, or a set with no rest, a splash rises from the bottom third of the screen instead, over the workout. It goes after five seconds. Tap it, drag it down, or tap anywhere above it to put it away sooner. While it's up, the sets under it can't be tapped by mistake.
On Android, the Back button puts either one away, the same as a tap. It never leaves the workout.
The thirteen moments
Each record plays one of thirteen animations. Chalk Burst, Plate Slam and Shatter are kept for big records: a gain of 5% or more, or more than one record in a set. Bar Bend only plays on barbell lifts. The rest can play on any record: Gold Sparks, Stamp, Split Flap, Foil Shine, Signature, Shockwave, Past the Mark, Lockout and PR Siren.
On Surprise Me, Durata plays every animation that fits before it repeats one, and never plays the same one twice in a row. To always see the same one, pick it in Settings > Rest Timer > Celebrations > PR Moment.
Seeing a record again
The set keeps a trophy on its badge. Tap the trophy and the record shows again as the bottom splash, with no countdown, until you put it away.
On the rest straight after a record set, a trophy sits in the top corner of the full-screen rest. Tap it to see the record again, in the same celebration you first saw. A later rest of the same lift has no trophy.
Cardio records, such as your furthest distance or fastest pace, never interrupt a workout. They show on the finish screen.
The finish screen
Tap FINISH and Session Complete opens on one figure: your session's volume, or the total time for a cardio session. That figure plays out in one of the finish celebrations, then a line under it says what changed, such as the records you set or Beat Last Time. Tap the figure to play it again.
Under it you'll see Sets, PRs, Time and Reps (cardio shows rounds, work, distance or pace instead), and the Lifetime card. Lifetime is a counter of everything you've lifted in Durata. It starts at the total before today's session and turns over once, as the celebration ends.
Further down, New Personal Records lists each lift with its old and new figures. Tap a row to open that lift's chart at the record; Back brings you back to the same spot. Each row has a share button for a record card. New Cardio Records has its own card, with a share button that makes a card saying what the record beat and how long it had stood.
The finish celebrations
There are eighteen, and each one only plays when it fits the session.
Strength sessions can get Record Cards (record days only), Versus Last Time, Chalkboard, Skyline, Stack Up, Seismograph, Receipt, The Scale (only on a heavier day than last time) and Neon. Your 1st, 10th, 25th and 50th sessions, and every 50th after that, always get the Chalkboard. On Receipt, tap Tap to Share to open that card in the share reel.
Cardio sessions can get Versus Last Time, Rounds Cleared, Work : Rest Barcode, Fan Spin-Up, Finish Clock, Distance in Things, Climb, Track Laps and Speedo (only on a faster day than last time).
On Surprise Me, every fitting celebration plays before any repeats. Pick one favourite, or Off for the finished numbers with nothing moving, in Settings > Rest Timer > Celebrations > Finish Celebration.
Replaying a finished session
Open any finished session in History, tap its ⋮ menu and choose Play Celebration. Session Complete plays again for that workout, with the Lifetime card as it stood that day, the records you set and the exercises you did. It plays even if your Finish Celebration setting is Off, because you asked for it. Close, or Back, returns you to the session in History.
Turning it up or down
Everything is in Settings > Rest Timer > Celebrations:
- PR Celebration: Auto (full screen when your rest is full screen and the set has a rest, the bottom splash otherwise), Always the Bottom Splash, Always Full Screen, or Off.
- PR Moment: Surprise Me, or one favourite of the thirteen.
- Finish Celebration: Surprise Me, one favourite of the eighteen, or Off.
Off never hides a record. The trophy still goes on the set, the record still counts, and it still shows on the finish screen and in History.
If your phone is set to reduce motion, the moments and celebrations open on their last frame with no animation.
Common questions
Will a record animation cut my rest short?
No. The rest keeps running underneath. On the full-screen version the countdown flies into the rest ring when the moment ends, and if your rest is shorter than eight seconds it hands over early.
Can I turn off the record animations but keep the trophies?
Yes. Set PR Celebration to Off in Settings > Rest Timer > Celebrations. The trophy still goes on the set and the record still counts.
Why didn't I see Bar Bend on my dumbbell record?
Bar Bend only plays on barbell lifts, and Chalk Burst, Plate Slam and Shatter only play on big records. Surprise Me only picks animations that fit the lift and the record.
Can I see the finish screen for an old workout?
Yes. Open the session in History, tap its ⋮ menu and choose Play Celebration.
Do cardio records get a moment?
Not mid-workout, so a run or a HIIT block is never interrupted. They show in their own New Cardio Records card on the finish screen, with a share button.
