None of our programs use the Triceps Pressdown
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a triceps exercise that is, there are 12 on the Triceps page.
What Triceps Pressdown trains
How to do the Triceps Pressdown
- Stand facing a cable machine with a straight or angled bar attached to the high pulley. Grasp the bar with an overhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart, and tuck your elbows close to your sides with your forearms parallel to the floor.
- Keeping your upper arms stationary, press the bar down by extending your elbows until your arms are fully extended.
- Pause briefly at the bottom, squeezing your triceps.
- Slowly return the bar to the starting position with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Keep your elbows pinned to your sides throughout; only your forearms should move.
- Avoid leaning over the bar or using your body weight to press it down.
- Exhale as you press down and inhale as you return to the start.
- Squeeze your triceps fully at the bottom of each repetition.
