Single Arm Lateral Raise (Dumbbell)
Trains the side delts, with help from the traps. You need a dumbbell. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
How to do the Single Arm Lateral Raise (Dumbbell)
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in one hand by your side with your palm facing your body. Keep your other hand on your hip or relaxed by your side.
- Lift the dumbbell out to the side, maintaining a slight bend in your elbow. Raise your arm until it is parallel to the floor.
- Lower the dumbbell back to the starting position, keeping the movement smooth and controlled.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch arms.
Getting it right
- Perform the movement slowly and deliberately for maximum control.
- Avoid using momentum or swinging the dumbbell.
- Keep your wrist straight and aligned with your forearm.
