Lying Triceps Extension (Cable)
Trains the triceps, with help from the forearms. You need a machine. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
How to do the Lying Triceps Extension (Cable)
- Attach a straight bar to the middle pulley of a cable machine. Lie on a flat bench with your head positioned near the pulley. Grasp the bar or rope with an overhand grip, your arms extended straight up above your chest.
- Lower the bar towards your forehead by bending your elbows, keeping your upper arms stationary.
- Just before touching your forehead, extend your arms back to the starting position, focusing on contracting your triceps.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Keep your upper arms stationary and only move your forearms to isolate the triceps.
- Focus on the contraction of your triceps as you extend your arms.
- Exhale as you extend your arms and inhale as you lower the bar.
