What Leg Raise Parallel Bars trains
How to do Leg Raise Parallel Bars
- Position yourself on the parallel bars or captain's chair with your forearms on the pads, gripping the handles, and your back against the backrest if available. Let your legs hang straight down.
- Engage your core and raise both legs straight out in front of you, keeping your knees extended, until your legs are parallel to the floor or higher.
- Pause briefly at the top of the movement.
- Slowly lower your legs back to the starting position with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Avoid swinging or using momentum; raise and lower your legs with strict control.
- Exhale as you raise your legs and inhale as you lower them.
- Keep your shoulders pressed down and avoid sagging between the bars.
- If straight legs are too challenging, bend your knees slightly and progress to straight legs over time.
