What Knee Raise Parallel Bars trains
How to do Knee Raise Parallel Bars
- Position yourself on the parallel bars or captain's chair with your forearms on the pads, gripping the handles, and your back against the backrest if available. Let your legs hang straight down.
- Engage your core and raise your knees up toward your chest by bending your hips and knees.
- Pause briefly at the top when your thighs are at or above parallel to the floor.
- Slowly lower your legs back to the starting position with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Avoid swinging your legs; lift and lower with slow, controlled movement.
- Exhale as you raise your knees and inhale as you lower them.
- Keep your shoulders down and away from your ears, and avoid sagging between the bars.
- Tilt your pelvis slightly upward at the top of the movement to fully engage your abdominals.
