What Hex Press (Dumbbell) trains
How to do the Hex Press (Dumbbell)
- Lie on a flat bench with a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing each other, and press the dumbbells together directly above your chest with your arms extended.
- Keeping the dumbbells pressed firmly together, lower them with control toward the middle of your chest, keeping your elbows close to your torso.
- Press the dumbbells back up to the starting position while continuing to squeeze them together.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Squeeze the dumbbells together as hard as possible throughout to maximize inner chest and triceps engagement.
- Keep your wrists straight and aligned with your forearms.
- Exhale as you press the dumbbells up and inhale as you lower them.
- Use hexagonal dumbbells if available, as the flat sides press together more securely.
