Halo (Plate)
Trains the shoulders. You need a plate. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
None of our programs use the Halo (Plate)
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a shoulders exercise that is, there are 11 on the Shoulders page.
What Halo (Plate) trains
How to do the Halo (Plate)
- Stand with your feet hip-width apart, holding a weight plate by its sides at chest height.
- Lift the plate and circle it around your head: past one ear, behind your head and round past the other ear.
- Bring it back to the front at chest height.
- Repeat in the same direction for the desired number of repetitions, then switch direction.
Getting it right
- Keep the plate close to your head as it circles.
- Brace your core and keep your hips still; only your arms move.
- Use a light plate: this is a mobility and control exercise for the shoulders.
- Breathe steadily throughout.

The app's swap picker ranks these the same way: same muscles, similar movement, similar equipment.
Let the app run the Halo (Plate) for you
Durata picks the weight, times your rest and adds load when you earn it. That works on any of our 50 free programs, or on a session you put together yourself.
