None of our programs use the Glute Kickback (Machine)
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a glutes exercise that is, there are 7 on the Glutes page.
What Glute Kickback (Machine) trains
How to do the Glute Kickback (Machine)
- Position yourself on the glute kickback machine, placing one foot on the platform or pad and holding the handles for support, with your standing leg slightly bent and your torso leaning slightly forward.
- Push the platform back and up by extending your hip and knee, driving through your heel until your leg is fully extended behind you.
- Squeeze your glute at the top of the movement, holding briefly.
- Return to the starting position with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch sides.
Getting it right
- Push through your heel rather than your toes to maximize glute activation.
- Keep your back flat and avoid arching your lower back as you extend your leg.
- Perform the movement slowly and with control rather than kicking with momentum.
- Exhale as you push back and inhale as you return to the start.
