None of our programs use the Chest Dip (Assisted)
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a chest exercise that is, there are 14 on the Chest page.
What Chest Dip (Assisted) trains
How to do the Chest Dip (Assisted)
- Set the desired counterweight on the assisted dip machine. Grasp the dip handles with your palms facing inward and place your knees or feet on the assistance platform.
- Start with your arms fully extended, then lean your torso slightly forward.
- Lower your body by bending your elbows until your upper arms are parallel to the floor, keeping the forward lean to emphasize your chest.
- Push through your palms to extend your elbows and return to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Lean forward slightly throughout to shift the emphasis onto your chest rather than your triceps.
- Reduce the assistance weight gradually as you get stronger.
- Lower yourself slowly and with control to maximize muscle engagement.
- Exhale as you push up and inhale as you lower yourself.
