Windmill (Kettlebell)
Trains the abdominals, with help from the shoulders. You need a kettlebell. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
None of our programs use the Windmill (Kettlebell)
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a abdominals exercise that is, there are 9 on the Abdominals page.
What Windmill (Kettlebell) trains
How to do the Windmill (Kettlebell)
- Press a kettlebell overhead with your right hand and turn both feet about 45 degrees to the left, feet wider than shoulder-width apart.
- Keep your eyes on the kettlebell and your right arm locked.
- Push your hips out to the right and hinge sideways, sliding your left hand down your left leg towards the floor.
- Reverse the movement to stand tall again. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch sides.
Getting it right
- Keep your top arm vertical and locked the whole time.
- The movement is a hinge at the hips, not a bend in the spine.
- Only go as low as you can while keeping the kettlebell steady overhead.
- Start with a light kettlebell, or with no weight, to learn the path.

Let the app run the Windmill (Kettlebell) for you
Durata picks the weight, times your rest and adds load when you earn it. That works on any of our 50 free programs, or on a session you put together yourself.
