None of our programs use the Upright Row (Cable)
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a shoulders exercise that is, there are 11 on the Shoulders page.
What Upright Row (Cable) trains
How to do the Upright Row (Cable)
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart in the middle of a resistance band, holding a handle in each hand with an overhand grip (palms facing back). Ensure the band is taut when your arms are extended downwards.
- Lift the handles straight up towards your chin, leading with your elbows and keeping the band close to your body.
- Raise the handles until your elbows are slightly higher than your shoulders and pointing to your sides.
- Slowly lower the handles back to the starting position with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Breathe steadily: exhale as you lift the handles and inhale as you lower them.
- Use a resistance band that allows you to maintain control and proper form throughout the exercise.
- Avoid lifting the handles too high, which can put unnecessary strain on your shoulder joints.
