What Reverse Grip Lat Pulldown (Cable) trains
How to do the Reverse Grip Lat Pulldown (Cable)
- Sit at the lat pulldown machine and secure your thighs under the pads. Grasp the bar with an underhand grip (palms facing you), hands about shoulder-width apart, arms fully extended overhead.
- Pull the bar down towards your upper chest by driving your elbows down and back, squeezing your shoulder blades together.
- Pause briefly at the bottom with the bar near your chest.
- Slowly return the bar to the starting position, fully extending your arms with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Lean back slightly and keep your chest up to create a clear path for the bar.
- Avoid using momentum or rocking your torso to pull the weight down.
- Exhale as you pull the bar down and inhale as you return it overhead.
- Focus on driving your elbows down towards your hips to engage your lats and upper back.
