Press Under
Trains the full body. You need a barbell. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
None of our programs use the Press Under
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a full body exercise that is, there are 12 on the Full Body page.
How to do the Press Under
- Stand with your feet hip-width apart, holding a barbell at your shoulders with an overhand grip, hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart and elbows under the bar.
- Dip slightly by bending your knees, then drive upward while simultaneously pressing the bar overhead and dropping your body down under it into a partial overhead squat.
- Catch the bar with your arms fully locked out overhead, then stand up fully while keeping the bar stable above you.
- Lower the bar back to your shoulders with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Focus on speed under the bar; the goal is to drop beneath the bar as you press, not to muscle it up slowly.
- Keep your core braced and your torso upright as you drop into the squat to keep the bar over your midfoot.
- Start with a light bar to groove the timing before adding weight.
- Exhale as you drive and press, and keep your gaze forward throughout the movement.

The app's swap picker ranks these the same way: same muscles, similar movement, similar equipment.
Let the app run the Press Under for you
Durata picks the weight, times your rest and adds load when you earn it. That works on any of our 50 free programs, or on a session you put together yourself.
