How to do the Lat Pulldown (Machine)

  1. Sit at the lat pulldown machine with your thighs secured under the pads and your feet flat on the floor. Reach up and grasp the bar with an overhand grip, hands wider than shoulder-width apart.
  2. Keeping your chest up and torso upright with a slight backward lean, pull the bar down to your upper chest by driving your elbows down and back.
  3. Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the bottom of the movement.
  4. Slowly let the bar rise back up until your arms are fully extended. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
