What Iso-Lateral High Row (Machine) trains
How to do the Iso-Lateral High Row (Machine)
- Sit on the iso-lateral high row machine with your chest against the pad and your feet flat on the floor. Reach up and grasp a handle in each hand with your arms fully extended.
- Pull both handles down and back toward your torso by driving your elbows down, squeezing your shoulder blades together.
- Pause briefly at the bottom of the movement, feeling the contraction in your lats.
- Slowly return the handles to the starting position with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Keep your chest against the pad and avoid leaning back to pull the weight.
- Drive your elbows down and back rather than pulling with your hands.
- Each arm works independently, so pull both sides evenly to address imbalances.
- Exhale as you pull the handles down and inhale as you return them.
