What Elbow to Knee trains
How to do the Elbow to Knee
- Lie on your back with your knees bent and your hands placed lightly behind your head, elbows out to the sides.
- Engage your core and lift your shoulder blades off the floor, rotating your torso to bring your right elbow toward your left knee as you draw the knee in toward your chest.
- Lower back to the starting position with control.
- Repeat on the opposite side, bringing your left elbow toward your right knee. Continue alternating sides for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Rotate from your torso rather than pulling on your neck with your hands.
- Exhale as you crunch and rotate, and inhale as you return to the starting position.
- Perform the movement slowly and with control to keep constant tension on your obliques.
- Keep your lower back pressed into the floor throughout the exercise.
