Decline Crunch
Trains the abdominals. No equipment needed. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app counts your sets, times your rest and remembers every rep.
None of our programs use the Decline Crunch
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a abdominals exercise that is, there are 9 on the Abdominals page.
What Decline Crunch trains
How to do the Decline Crunch
- Set a decline bench to a moderate angle and lie back on it with your feet secured under the footpads and your knees bent. Place your hands lightly behind your head or across your chest.
- Engage your core and curl your shoulders and upper back off the bench, bringing your chest toward your knees.
- Pause briefly at the top, squeezing your abdominals.
- Slowly lower your torso back to the bench with control. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Avoid pulling on your neck with your hands; let your abs do the work.
- Curl your spine rather than sitting straight up with a rigid torso.
- Exhale as you crunch up and inhale as you lower back down.
- Increase the decline angle to make the exercise more challenging.

Let the app run the Decline Crunch for you
