Ab Scissors
Trains the abdominals. No equipment needed. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
None of our programs use Ab Scissors
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a abdominals exercise that is, there are 9 on the Abdominals page.
What Ab Scissors trains
How to do Ab Scissors
- Lie flat on your back with your legs extended and your arms at your sides, palms facing down. Place your hands under your hips for support if needed.
- Lift both legs off the floor a few inches, keeping them straight and your lower back pressed into the floor.
- Cross your right leg over your left, then open your legs and cross your left leg over your right in a scissoring motion, keeping both legs off the floor.
- Continue alternating the crossing motion for the desired number of repetitions, then lower your legs back to the floor.
Getting it right
- Keep your lower back pressed into the floor throughout to protect your spine.
- Breathe steadily; avoid holding your breath during the scissoring motion.
- Keep the movement slow and controlled to maintain constant tension on your abdominals.
- Lower your legs closer to the floor to increase difficulty, or raise them higher to make it easier.
Swap Ab Scissors for
The app's swap picker ranks these the same way: same muscles, similar movement, similar equipment.
Let the app run Ab Scissors for you
Durata picks the weight, times your rest and adds load when you earn it. That works on any of our 50 free programs, or on a session you put together yourself.
