Shoulder Taps
Trains the shoulders, with help from the abdominals. No equipment needed. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
None of our programs use Shoulder Taps
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a shoulders exercise that is, there are 11 on the Shoulders page.
What Shoulder Taps trains
How to do Shoulder Taps
- Begin in a high plank position with your hands directly under your shoulders and your body forming a straight line from head to heels, feet slightly wider than hip-width for stability.
- Keeping your hips level, lift your right hand off the floor and tap your left shoulder.
- Return your right hand to the floor, then lift your left hand and tap your right shoulder.
- Continue alternating sides in a controlled rhythm for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Keep your hips as still as possible; imagine balancing a glass of water on your lower back.
- Engage your core and glutes throughout to resist rotation.
- Breathe steadily throughout the movement rather than holding your breath.
- Widen your feet for more stability, or bring them closer together to increase the challenge.
