None of our programs use the Cossack Squat
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a quadriceps exercise that is, there are 16 on the Quadriceps page.
What Cossack Squat trains
How to do the Cossack Squat
- Stand with your feet much wider than shoulder-width apart and your toes turned slightly out.
- Shift your weight to your right leg and bend your right knee, keeping your left leg straight with its toes pointing up. Lower your hips towards the floor, with your right knee tracking over your right toes.
- Push through your right foot to return to the middle.
- Repeat on the left side. Alternate sides for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Keep your chest up and your back straight as you sink to the side.
- Only go as deep as you can while keeping your working heel on the floor.
- Keep your knee in line with your toes.
- Exhale as you push back up and inhale as you lower.
