None of our programs use the Belt Squat (Machine)
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a quadriceps exercise that is, there are 16 on the Quadriceps page.
What Belt Squat (Machine) trains
How to do the Belt Squat (Machine)
- Clip the belt to the machine's chain or strap, fasten it around your hips and stand on the platform with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes slightly out.
- Hold the handles lightly for balance, brace your core and release the safety stops.
- Push your hips back and bend your knees to lower yourself until your thighs are at least parallel to the platform.
- Drive through your whole foot to stand back up to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- The load hangs from your hips, so your spine stays free: keep your torso upright and let your legs do the work.
- Keep your knees tracking over your toes on the way down and up.
- Use the handles for balance only, not to pull yourself up.
- Set the safety stops before you start and re-engage them when the set is done.
