Jumping Lunge
Trains the quadriceps, with help from the hamstrings and glutes. No equipment needed. None of our programs use it yet, but you can add it to any session you build.
Free to use. The app works out every weight and times your rest.
None of our programs use the Jumping Lunge
It is in the app, so you can add it to any session and log it like anything else. It is just not written into one of our 50 free programs. If you want a quadriceps exercise that is, there are 16 on the Quadriceps page.
What Jumping Lunge trains
How to do the Jumping Lunge
- Stand upright and step one foot forward into a lunge position, lowering your back knee toward the floor until both knees are bent at about 90 degrees.
- Push explosively through both feet to jump straight up, swinging your arms for momentum.
- While in the air, switch the position of your legs so the opposite foot lands in front.
- Land softly and immediately lower into the next lunge. Continue alternating legs for the desired number of repetitions.
Getting it right
- Land softly with bent knees to absorb the impact and protect your joints.
- Keep your torso upright and your core engaged to maintain balance throughout the switch.
- Ensure your front knee stays aligned with your toes and does not extend past them.
- Start with slow, controlled switches and increase speed as your balance improves.

Let the app run the Jumping Lunge for you
Durata picks the weight, times your rest and adds load when you earn it. That works on any of our 50 free programs, or on a session you put together yourself.
